Don’t get too excited, I cheated. I ended up filling it in using another drawing program. And directly thereafter purchasing Adobe Illustrator for Dummies.

This was my first time ever drawing with illustrator. I ended up just drawing the image on paper and scanning it into the computer and then selecting Object > Image Trace from the drop down menu.
